  3. Bevacizumab (Avastin): This medication is sometimes used to reduce the blood vessel leakage associated with radiation necrosis.
  4. Surgery: In some cases, surgery may be necessary to remove damaged tissues, especially when other treatments are not effective.

Prevention and Risk Reduction:

To minimize the risk of radiation necrosis, healthcare providers carefully plan radiation therapy to target cancer cells while sparing healthy tissues. Using modern techniques, such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) or proton therapy, can help reduce the risk of collateral damage to healthy tissues.
